La Rhune is one of the Pyrenees mountains. The Saint-Ignace pass is located at the end of the Pyrenean chain, not far from the Basque coast. Barely a few kilometers separate it from the ocean. The border with Spain cuts the massif in two. Along the paths, you can make a few forays into Spain ...

From the top of its 900 meters above sea level, it is rather considered low mountain. The hike is sporty but without difficulty. At the bend of a path or at its summit, its sea view is incredible and well worth its ascent. There are six circuits of different levels, departing from Saint-Ignace, Sare, Ascain, Olhette or the Lizuniaga pass. You therefore have the choice to discover this mountain in all its facets.

If you are not a hiker, a small tourist train takes you to the top from Saint-Ignace station. This authentic little cogwheel train rides quietly and will give you time to appreciate the landscape and the panorama. You will cross pasture meadows, where you will come across Pottoks, wild horses, and flocks of sheep.
