Restaurant Les Sources de la Nive Traditional family cuisine in the heart of the Basque mountains

The Basque Country, and particularly Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and its surroundings, offers you an exceptional historical heritage and vibrant traditions.

But it is in Estérencuby, at the foot of the mountains, on the riverbank, alone in a green cirque, that the Tihista family, for the 5th generation, warmly welcomes you to their Hotel-Restaurant "Les Sources de la Nive".

The restaurant, open to all, has 2 rooms with a capacity of 100 covers.

The authentic atmosphere of the main dining room highlights the region's history through antique furniture, reflecting the rustic charm cherished by our ancestors in this land. On the plate, you'll find traditional, home-style cooking prepared with local ingredients. Discover some of our specialties offered on our set menus or à la carte: Banca trout, warm foie gras with apples, parsley-seasoned eels, piperade with ham, venison or wild boar stew (in season), sheep's cheese with jam, Basque cake… all accompanied by a fine local wine.
