It's at Bob's that it's brewing! Since 2023, Bob's Beer Brewpub has set up its tanks in Anglet to bring to life a concept that reflects who we are: a large, friendly pub where you can drink beer brewed on site, eat well, watch a match, play pétanque or simply have a good time.

Spanning 600 square meters, the brewery's tanks are an integral part of the decor. Here, there's no need to wonder where the beer you're enjoying comes from: it's brewed just a few meters away. Bob's Beer Brewpub is a microbrewery, a beer bar, a pub, and a restaurant in Anglet, but above all, it's a place where people love to gather.

A story that begins in Hasparren

Before becoming a Brewpub, Bob's Beer started in Hasparren in 2006 with Bob Worboys, an Englishman in love with the Basque Country and passionate about beer.

Coming from a family where brewing expertise has been passed down through generations, Bob decided to settle in the Basque Country and create Etxeko Bob's Beer. At the time, craft breweries in the Basque Country were still rare. Little by little, Bob's Beer found its niche and became known for its distinctive beers, with a blend of British and Basque influences that remains part of its identity today.

In 2021, the adventure changed hands but not spirit. A new team took over the brewery with the desire to grow Bob's Beer while preserving what makes up its DNA: a local beer, character and above all a lot of creativity.

Then came 2023 and the opening of the Brewpub in Anglet. A new step for Bob's Beer, with a fairly simple idea in the end: to bring the brewery into the pub and to bring the beer out of the brewery.

Beers brewed right behind the bar

At Bob's, there are beers that we know and those that we didn't necessarily expect to find.

Blonde, white, amber, brown, Pale Ale, IPA, sour, fruit beer… The range evolves with each batch and the whims of our brewers. Some recipes are available year-round, while others appear for just a few weeks. That's also what makes coming to Bob's so enjoyable: there's always a new craft beer to discover.

Our brewers love to explore, test, start over and sometimes go off the beaten track. A well-hopped IPA, a fruity beer, a creation inspired by a cocktail or a recipe imagined for a particular season: beer offers an almost infinite playground.

And for those who simply want good advice, the bar staff knows their beers and will be able to guide you according to your tastes. Because you can love beer without knowing the difference between a Pale Ale and an IPA!

The brewery's work has also been recognized on several occasions, notably at the World Beer Awards and the Concours Général Agricole.

And if you prefer wine, cocktails or non-alcoholic drinks, you are obviously welcome: Bob's also offers wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks with a selection of local soft drinks.

Bob's Beer Brewpub isn't really the kind of place where you just go to "have a drink".

Throughout the year, the Brewpub hosts various events in Anglet : live broadcasts of matches and major sporting events on a giant screen, blind tests, musical entertainment, beer-related events, pétanque, darts and other occasional gatherings.

The upstairs pétanque court has become a popular meeting place for pétanque enthusiasts. As for the big matches, they are obviously best watched with a beer in hand and in the kind of pub atmosphere we all love.
