  I just ordered a meal on Uber Eats today, May 22, 2026. I've gotten into the habit of using this service from Paris to Bassussarry, as my job doesn't allow me to waste time, and I always have excellent relationships with the local businesses I've recommended and with the delivery drivers, who are always very kind and always have a pleasant word when they arrive and leave, not forgetting "bon appétit"... and a smile to boot. I pick up my order, sit down at the table, and realize there's only one drink... I ordered four. I look for the restaurant's phone number, which logically should be on the receipt... but it isn't. I find the phone number and, rather annoyed at having to justify myself and perhaps having to call back a delivery driver who was paid a pittance again for three small bottles, I call, quite upset. A young woman told me she would check. It turned out that this was the same young woman who had prepared the order. It's unlikely she could handle 50 orders a minute. Disdainful and certain of her own righteousness, she brushed it aside, without even an apology, and told me she would report it to her manager and get back to me. More than 30 minutes later, I received confirmation that Uber Eats would be refunding the overpayment. As an entrepreneur myself, I know what "customer experience" means. Faced with my interlocutor's dissatisfaction and her extremely vague explanations, I retorted that if the person who prepared my order couldn't count or read, she wasn't in the right job. Since I was on the phone with her, she felt trapped, like a fish in a net. The only right response, regardless of what she might think of me, was to apologize, keep my head down, and agree with me. NO!!!! She retorted, "If you're frustrated in your life, that's not my problem." So, my dear, if you ever find yourself as frustrated as I am, you won't be behind a counter, trying to make a point of your failures. The fact remains that the main course was good, and the only drink was very good too. I advise her employer to let her know that customer experience is paramount and that if she wants to keep her job, she needs to: - Open her eyes and carefully read her order before sealing the bag. - At the very least, swallow her pride and put away her handkerchief. - Take the three missing drinks and bring them to her immediately... or else! If you were to work for me, you would have received a warning accompanied by a slap on the wrist!
